Episode 114
A conversation with Neno
GENDERFLUID LESBIAN [WORD WITCH]
1 hr 4 min. Recorded on 18 November 2025.
Neno’s pronouns are they/she and they are a genderfluid lesbian word witch. Find out what that means to Neno in this episode.
We also talk about compulsory heterosexuality, performative femininity, how gender dysphoria can be fleeting, finding queer community as an introvert, active rest, imposter syndrome of queerness, representation in books and stories, and embracing your magick.
“Had I had gender dysphoria all the time… then, that’s something that maybe I could go and talk to a therapist about and understand more deeply… But with the genderfluid experience, it was something that’s very fleeting. So I never associated it with gender.”

About Neno
Neno is a gender fluid lesbian, writer, poet, book coach, and podcaster. Her journey with her sexuality and gender took years to unravel. It wasn’t until she divorced her ex-husband, came out, and started exploring her identity that she saw the harm suppressing her queerness did to her body and how the lack of representation in media contributed to it. Prior to her coming out, Neno struggled with an eating disorder, and now sees that her gender dysphoria contributed to it. She now works to change the world through books, poetry, and community. She lives by two sayings: “Your word is your wand, and with it, you wield powerful magic,” and “The opposite of war isn’t peace; it’s creation.”
